What is the purpose of a Texas health spa bond? 

Texas Statutes Section 702.151 requires individuals file a surety bond before being issued a health spa operator’s certificate of registration. State Form 3002 is officially titled “Form 3002 - General Information (Health Spa Surety Bond)” but is commonly known as the “health spa bond.” By filing this bond, health spas specifically agree to fulfill all obligations, duties, and responsibilities outlined in Health Spa Act Texas Occupations Code Chapter 702. If they fail to do so, their issuing surety company will pay valid claims to health spa members who suffer actual financial loss as a result of the closing of the health spa.

Who regulates licensing for health spas?
